# Job Summary
This position provides varied, confidential general office assistance for the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals.
1. Clerical assistance to the office services supervisor 2, court judges, and attorneys.
2. Receptionist assistance.
3. Assistance in managing the Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals' caseload.
4. Prepare cases to be published through the Minnesota's Bookstore.
5. Day-to-day office administration as directed by the office services supervisor 2.
English (reading, writing, and speaking) sufficient to answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages; communicate effectively with internal and external customers; write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction;
Customer Services skills sufficient to identify each customer's needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction; answer phones, refer calls, and greet visitors with courtesy and respect;
Data Entry/Data Management skills sufficient to utilize database and spreadsheet software to keep records and prepare reports, charts and graphs.
Working knowledge of word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, sufficient to prepare correspondence, transaction lists, database entries, and reports.
Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy at 50 words a minute;
Word Processing skills sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, charts, and graphs.
Familiar with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting practices sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records, and reports and bookkeeping procedures sufficient to post, code, and process accounting documents.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Experience with court procedures and legal documents.
Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
