Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics Opportunity at Stanford Federal Credit Union!

Who YOU are:

  • The Manager will serve as a player/coach for a small team that drives high quality business insights across Stanford FCU business units.  The Manager will sit at the intersection of business and technology to help build a data-driven culture to drive growth and business performance. Candidates must have previous leadership experience in applying analytics to support executive decision making as well as business process improvements.
  • Education and Experience:
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Applied Statistics, Computer Science or related field or relevant experience.   Master’s degree a plus.
    2. Experience working in a fast-paced domain preferred
    3. Experience in developing insights from both structured and unstructured data sets
    4. Experience with implementing best practices in data analysis, reporting, and data-driven decision making
    5. Proven experience applying analytics to drive growth (increase share of wallet, prospect conversion, cross-sell conversion, attrition reduction)
    6. History of evangelizing the adoption of data driven decision making and performance measurement as growth drivers 
    7. Experience driving the evolution of the business intelligence function from descriptive and diagnostic to predictive and prescriptive analytics a plus
  • Knowledge and Skills. An ideal candidate will have a strong technology-based background and management experience collaborating with Senior Level, non-technologists. 
    1. End-to-end design and execution of a Business Intelligence / Analytics team including business strategy, hypothesis generation, data discovery, data integration and Dashboard/Analytics model development
    2. Solid understanding of project planning/execution skills including estimating and scheduling
    3. Master of “story telling” with data. Communicating results, their causes and their implications to executive audiences including actionable recommendations, and completing feedback loops
    4. Technical proficiencies in Tableau, Alteryx, SQL.  
    5. Desire to deliver business impact and measure results to continuously improve business unit and overall organizational performance
    6. Cloud computing and data warehouse experience especially in AWS, MS Azure, or Snowflake a plus.
    7. Experience using R/Python and Data wrangling tools a plus

What YOU’LL do:

  • The Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics oversees and administers the Credit Union’s data management, data analysis, and reporting capabilities and is responsible for turning data and analysis into relevant insight to support data-driven decision making.  This position will play a key role in the transition from traditional reporting to a more dynamic, on demand analytics environment ensuring a foundation to deliver information to internal stakeholders at all levels in the organization. The Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics consults with and presents to the Leadership Team and Department Managers to determine ways to support the strategic plan, improve business processes, and effectively manage business objectives through data analysis and reporting.
  • Responsibilities include:
    1. Lead the Business Intelligence Department in providing reporting and analytical support to business unit initiatives and ongoing business operations.
    2. Develop and deploy automated solutions to assist in process improvement, auditing, and analytics.  Such solutions may include data warehouses/data marts, dashboards, financial models, predictive models, and analytical tools/models.  
    3. Lead the evaluation and selection of enterprise BI and analytical tools.  Provide input with respect to technology initiatives and investments including data mining, data visualization, BI tools and dashboards, and evolving technologies and associated applicability for the company. 
    4. Create complex yet concise dashboards that are quickly deployed to users in a manner that is easily repeatable while delivering fast, clear and flexible outputs
    5. Lead the team in providing marketing analysis support including member analysis, segmentation, and product usage.
    6. Collaborate with senior executives to understand complex business challenges and opportunities and develop data solutions that meet the business intelligence or insights needs
    7. Identifies & resolves data quality issues discovered during the business intelligence and insights process. 
    8. Manage, supervise, and lead a team of technical and analytical resources in the delivery of data management solutions, including training and career advancement. 
    9. Identify gaps and opportunities with regard to data governance and data ownership and provide recommendations for improvements incorporating best practices. 
    10. Utilize the credit union’s workflow management tool (Service Now) and support the business units’ needs for the maintenance of existing workflows and the development of new processes.  
    11. Define resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, and forecasts.
