Job Description

Our client manufactures a high-performance thermal barrier sold globally to a large and diverse industry range. They are also a designer and manufacturer of high-reliability hermetic glass-to-metal seals for the aerospace, automotive, medical, and consumer industries.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quality Engineer to join the team. A successful candidate will balance responsibilities in both Engineering and Management.

Certifications & Requirements

• Technical Degree (Bachelor’s or Associate) preferable in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

• ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering.

• AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification (desired.)

• 3+ years of experience in GDMT.

• 3+ years of experience in CAD (desired.)

• 3+ years of experience in aerospace or medical equipment industries.

• 3+ years of experience in the design and manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of plating and functional testing (desired.)

• 2+ years of supervisory experience.

• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series.

Responsibilities

Engineering:

· Collaborate with customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design.

· Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.

· Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.

· Participate in quality reporting and management review process.

· Monitor production quality to ensure repetitive quality requirements are met.

· Manage quality metrics and present findings and recommendations to the management review team.

· Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts.

· Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements.

· Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes.

· Lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startup.

· Coordinate pre-launch production trial run process monitoring.

· Lead the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

· Maintain Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the life of the part.

· Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.

§ Utilize 8D and 5 Why methodologies to determine root cause.

§ Develop robust corrective action plans.

§ Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements as the voice of Concept Group’s customers.

· Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and R&D to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

· Lead PPM improvement plan for strategic customers.

§ Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.

§ Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System analysis tools.

Systems Management:

· Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that result in improved corporate quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs.

· Participate in quality reporting and management review process.

§ Manage quality metrics and present findings and recommendations to the management review team.
