Job Description

Principal Function: The Sales Representative is responsible for fostering relationships with potential leads and the existing customer base. This role delivers excellent service by providing customers with administrative and technical support, then effectively communicates key information to in house departments.


1.     Provides updated pricing and product information to customers.

2.     Follows up on opportunities, calls warm & cold leads, develops new contacts, and expands customer base by converting leads into buying accounts.

3.     Relays important customer information, pricing, and new orders to the designated Customer Service Representative.

4.     Travels to customers in the Midwest sales territory, aiming to develop long-term customer relationships during these visits.

5.     Gives targeted market and company presentations to customers.

6.     Maintains and grows customer base by promoting and recommending new products.

7.     Coordinates technical support for existing customers and potential new customers.

8.     Requests and records customer forecasts, as well as gathers market information to use in forecasting.

9.     Completes reports on customer calls & visits. Sends reports to management.

10.  Monitors customer sample requests to ensure delivery & timely follow up.

11.  Logs daily activities, sales calls, leads, prospects, proposals, call reports, and other pertinent client information.

12.  Monitors competition by gleaning knowledge from customers and gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, services, technology, etc.

13.  Follows up on customer complaints with Corrective Action Plans.

14.  Represents the Company at trade shows and industry events.

15.  Strives to meet annual company sales volume quotas.
