Position is in Levelland, Texas
Ability to plan organize and lead personnel. Ability to assist with training of assigned personnel, take appropriate actions in all situations under the guidance of the Manager/Director. Serves as a diplomat for Respiratory Therapy at Covenant Health System and directly or indirectly affects change within the respiratory department. He/She will encourage competent care, develop individualized intervention, and enhance respiratory therapy skills. Able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, family members, and other disciplines. Ability to assess/reassess others for annual evaluations. Responsible for performing a variety of therapeutic, diagnostic Respiratory Care procedures & the Airway Management Program. Responsible for meeting CHS, JCAHO, and OSHA established policies and standards. Coordinates student activities assuring student competency. Minimal supervision required.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Successful completion of an AMA approved AS degree program for Respiratory Care
Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Care Experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Well versed in all Respiratory Care procedures and equipment
Current license to practice respiratory care in State of Texas through the Texas Medical Board
- If employed at Medical Center, Children's, and Specialty hospitals, then must have RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credentialing from NBRC.
Leadership Experience, BS degree in Respiratory Care and/or Health Care Administration; ACCS- Adult Critical Care Certification or NPS-Neonatal-Pediatric Specialty Certification.
