Job Title: HR Generalist Department: Human Resources Reports To: Human Resources Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time Safety Sensitive: No Job Summary:The HR Generalist assists in managing the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) office. The HR Generalist will also assist in new employee recruitment and onboarding, staff training, enforcing company policies and practices, as well as employee engagement and experience. This Part-Time position is an important member of our small HR team; plenty of support will be given to fully integrate the HR Generalist into our HR function.

Recruitment and New Employee Onboarding:Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in ADP WorkForce Now and responds with follow-up emails to candidates at the end of the recruiting process. Assists with the pre-employment screening process, including tracking pre-employment drug screens, and submitting new employee background checks.

Reviews new hire paperwork with employees on their first day. Ensures new employee files are accurate and complete. Completes I-9 documentation, enters information into E-Verify, and maintains I-9 files.

Assists in the onboarding of new employees including company email, ADP registration, New Hire Orientation registration, etc. Training:Assists with coordination, assembling materials, and the overall administration of all staff training. Input completed training into ADP WorkForce Now, ensuring staff credentials are up to date.

Alert managers of any upcoming trainings that need recertification. Safety:Work in partnership with the Safety Manager and Human Resources Manager to manage the organization-wide mission of a safe workplace Assist with Employer's Report of Injury filings for any workplace injuries to be filed with SVdP's workman's compensation insurance provider Human Resource Duties:Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff Assists with processing of terminations.

Assists with the preparation of the performance review process. Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions. Files documents into appropriate employee files.

Assists or prepares correspondence as requested. Processes and distribute department incoming mail. Codes and processes all HR department invoices (including benefit invoices).

Cross-train to act as a backup to the Payroll & Benefits Administrator position. Performs any other duties assigned by HR Manager or Director of Human Resources. Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP's Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated * * Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organizational culture and values Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and/or equivalent experience is preferred At least two years of related Human Resource department experience is preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
