About the Position
Squad Security has a Human Resources Manager opportunity in our Los Angeles office. This position will be responsible for supporting 300 employees in California. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of employee relations, recruitment and selection, data management, benefit administration and other human resources functions. This position is responsible for supervising a small human resources support team.

Work Location
This is a full-time position, located onsite at our Westchester, Los Angeles office. There will be an opportunity to work up to 1 day per week remotely.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide overall guidance on all human resources related matter.
  • Provide directions, support and supervision for the human resources team.
  • Assist with the high-volume recruiting process from start to finish.
  • Assist supervisors and employees with the resolution and proactive management of day-to-day employee performance and development.
  • Provide recommendations regarding company policies and practices in effort to prevent liability.
  • Understand and communicate Employee Handbook policies.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation administration.
  • Manage benefit administration and leave of absence process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of related experience in a human resources position in an organization of at least 150 employees, who are primarily nonexempt.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • A Human Resources certification (i.e., PHR-CA, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of California (including San Francisco) employment laws, and the ability to interpret them.
  • Great communication, problem-solving skills and small-group presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and employees.
  • Ability to communicate difficult information in a way that preserves dignity and respect for individuals.
  • Experience with conflict resolution.
  • Capable of managing details and multiple priorities while effectively meeting deadlines.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, integrity and the ability to keep information confidential.
  • Ability to write reports and general business correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet research and easily able to learn new software programs.
