Title: House Person

Direct Report: Executive Housekeeper/Assistant Housekeeper

Responsible for: Public/Associate areas

Liaises with: Guests, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Management

Primary Objective of Position

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas to include lobby, food and beverage areas, public

rest rooms, corridors, meeting rooms, stairways, vending areas, pool areas, fitness center, business center and

back of the house. Complete the Public Area checklist. To embrace the values of the Company Culture and

Guiding Principles.

Major Areas of Accountability

1) Ensures guest satisfaction by cleaning and maintaining all public areas and associate areas daily according

to operational policies and standards.

 Clean and maintain the tile floors using wet mop, dry mop and extractor or buffer. As you mop set

up safety signs. Mop only one half of an area at a time so that you leave a dry traffic area for people

to walk.

 Vacuum carpeted areas.

 Clean glass doors and windows.

 Dust all surfaces.

 Report all maintenance issues.

 Empty trash from housekeeper carts, as well as trash cans throughout the hotel and exterior.

 Clean and restock public and associate restrooms.

 Clean and reset meeting rooms, to include cleaning the bathrooms located within a meeting room.

 Clean fitness center, sanitizing machines.

 Bring all items left in public areas to Housekeeping office for “Lost and Found” handling.

 Clean outside parking areas of trash and debris.

 Snow removal on sidewalks and at entrances.

 Reports unusual circumstances to Housekeeping Supervisor.

 Practice chemical use safety: Never mix chemicals and store chemicals in properly labeled containers.

2) Provide quality service to the guest by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently, and courteously.

 Be prepared to answer questions about hotel services, the community, points of interest,

travel directions, etc.

 Assist with the delivery of supplies, cribs, and rollaway beds to guest rooms.

 Assist with delivering luggage or packages to guest room, when requested.

3) Maximizes job efficiency by maintaining and organizing supply cart, supply closet and vacuum

cleaner.

 Stocks supply cart correctly.

 Cleans cart and vacuum cleaner on a regular basis Checks stock daily.

 Notifies Housekeeping Supervisor immediately if any stock shortages exist.

 Pulls any damaged or rewash linen and returns them to the Housekeeping department.

4) Ensures the property consistently maintains a clean, hospitable and professional environment

 Adheres to Hotel’s standards of operations.

 Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory

regulation.

 Maintains safe and secure environment for guests and associates.

 Maintain a clean, pleasant, and professional image to the guest.

 Follows hotel’s grooming and dress standards and wear the proper uniform at all times.

 Attends work on time as scheduled.

 Do not leave guest room/pass keys on your cart.

5) General Job Performance Requirements.

 Associate is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job

duties not necessarily contained in this job.

 Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of

significance.

 Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established

company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

 Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates to foster and promote a

cooperative and harmonious working climate.

 Requests assistance as needed.

 Requires strong attention to detail.

 Ability to communicate to guests and team members verbally or in written form.

 At all times projects a favorable image of the Hotel to the public.

6) General Physical Requirements. The following are the customary physical efforts required to perform the

essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.

Education and/or Experience

One to three month’s related experience and/or training; High school diploma; or equivalent combination of

education and experience.
