Spring Oaks Capital is looking for a Compliance Specialist whose primary function will be handling the end to-
end process for formal complaints (AG, BBB, CFPB) and will be expected to participate in other high priority
projects and initiatives frequently.


Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Formal complaint handling including, but not limited to uploading, tracking,
    investigating, seller reporting, and drafting responses
  • Own compliance reviews for various specialty items (both ad-hoc and prescribed
    frequencies)
  • Support issue and change management
  • Assist with company policies and procedures
  • Serve as back-up for peer group (disputes, quality assurance, non-regulatory complaints,
    internal & external audits, due diligence, etc.)
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Engineering, Acquisitions, and Finance as needed
  • Contribute to team and department meetings and presentations

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant debt collection industry experience (compliance/audit/quality
    assurance/recovery/control/risk/legal)
  • Understand federal, state, and local laws/rules/regulations pertaining to debt collection
  • Reliable, committed, and solid work ethic
  • Effective organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Take direction, retain information, and execute assignments
  • Thorough, strict attention to detail
  • Adaptable, easily shift focus & efforts
  • Receptive to coaching & feedback, and commanding ownership of implementation
  • Productive when working both independently and with a team
  • Comfort with presenting material across all levels
  • Anticipate, identify, & escalate problems, and suggest potential solutions

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • BS/BA degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
