Firearms Compliance Specialist - Who Are We Looking For?

The Firearms Compliance Specialist will oversee firearm compliance, operations, ATF, and state regulatory compliance standards set by the governing agencies. This will include Sportsman's Finest Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), all aspects of firearm acquisition and disposition, sale, transfer, distribution and purchase of regulated firearms, safe handling of firearms, licensing, and registration.

• Extensive knowledge of federal firearm laws and regulations. (ATF & CFC) required
• Leadership experience and a strong understanding of how to identify, mentor and develop talent.
• Retail, distribution, import and export knowledge of firearms is critical in this role.
• Must be legally able to purchase and possess firearms

Essential Functions:

• Assures firearms licensed facilities ATF or CFC compliance processes and procedures are in adherence to Federal, State and Local Laws, ordinances and regulations through detailed compliance inspections at Sportsman's Finest.  Analyze results of Federal (ATF F 4473, 3310.4, 3310.12, 3310.6, 3310.11) and state required paperwork, and internal documents to determine licensed standing.

• Teach and coach store employees to adhere to 4473 standards and maintain accurate 4473 records and logs

• Builds and develops communication and training content for overall firearms compliance program health through technologies and directives that lead to enhanced firearms compliance at Sportsman's Finest

• Performs recordkeeping, maintenance, and audit compliance files in accordance with ATF

• Complete and submit all necessary ATF forms and documentation

• Assist in developing policies and procedures related to compliance for all employees

• Maintains up to date knowledge of firearm laws and regulations

• Performs internal audits to ensure compliance with all applicable firearms laws and regulations, reports all discrepancies

• Apply for and renew and manage FFL’s and SOT’s Licenses

• Conduct ATF Traces and cycle counts

• Correct any serial number discrepancies and escalate any issues

• Assist the operations team in correcting shipping and receiving discrepancies

• Manages NFA form 3's and Form 4's
