Mechanic/ Vehicle Technician

The ideal medium duty mechanic applicant should be skilled at diagnosing and repairing diesel/gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. Vehicles are primarily Freightliner step vans and GM.
Full-time Monday - Friday, occasional Saturdays, as needed (flexible shift times):
- 12pm - 8:30pm
- 3pm - 11:30pm
Part-time - flexible scheduling, Monday - Friday
Starting wage based on background and experience
- Entry Level Technician - $20 - $21/hr
- Experienced Technician - $26 - $28/hr
- Advanced Technician - $29 - $33/hr
Essential Job Duties:
- Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
- Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader
- Ability to work independently and/or with other mechanics
- Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
- Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
- Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
- Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
- Other duties as assigned
A qualified candidate must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, operate a manual transmission vehicle, and be able to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, and criminal background check. Additional qualifications include a basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance/ operation and capability of using all hand tools and a lockable tool chest are also required. Two years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics with some experience is preferable, but training is available for those with a mechanical background. Uniforms provided.
