Spectrum Schools Needs an Occupational Therapist (Part-time)

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) interested in a meaningful job that MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN STUDENTS LIVES!
Our OT provides Occupational Therapy evaluations and direct services to elementary students with autism and related disorders according to their IEPs in a nonpublic special education program. The OT provides therapeutic activities and sensory integrative techniques to improve functional performance, enhance sensory processing and promote adaptive responses to environmental demands. Additionally, the OT will provide coaching to teachers and instructional aides and will work collaboratively with the Director and program staff to implement the Individual Education Plans (IEPs) of enrolled students. The OT will support the implementation of home-based teaching and support programs for students by providing consultation to parents/caregivers and possibly home visits.

Our OT provide therapeutic activities and sensory integrative techniques, the OT facilitates maximum independence by establishing life skills with an emphasis on safety and environmental adaptation to improve quality of life and increase meaning and purpose in daily living and community integration. Promote fine motor skills, coordination, sensory integration and facilitates the use of adaptive equipment or other assistive technology. Develop, implements, and maintains designated instructional programs and materials for each of the students who receive OT services (including graph templates to track student progress); Conducts and reports assessments when needed, including developing IEP goals and reporting on progress through progress reports. Participates as a classroom staff as needed. Provides the classroom staff with comprehensive procedure and materials to run the proposed goals. Consults with classroom staff on graphing IEP goals, setting up a template and modeling how to run, record and graph each goal. Collaborates with Director, BCBA, Speech Pathologist to develop and complete ongoing evaluations of student needs. Attends all IEP meetings for the students on his/her caseload. The expectation is that parents and districts will receive a copy of any assessments and proposed goals prior to the IEP for review.

Licensed Occupational Therapist
Experience providing OT service in a school-based, collaborative setting preferred.
Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience on data collection, data analysis and decision making based on data.
