The Special Needs Advocacy Network, Inc. (SPaN) is seeking a part-time administrator and event coordinator. As a self-employed contractor for SPaN, the Administrator supports the President and Board of Directors by performing clerical and administrative tasks in a virtual office. SPaN is a non-profit organization that provides continuing professional development and support for advocates, other professionals in the related fields of Special Education, as well as, for parents of children with disabilities. The Administrator will assist an active board of directors in carrying out our mission to enhance the professional growth and development of SPaN's members and to act as a primary resource for advocates. Our ideal candidate is a quick learner who is highly organized, deadline oriented, can prioritize assignments and tasks, has excellent computer and database entry skills, can work independently and collaboratively, has excellent spoken and written communication skills, and can perform effectively with frequent workload changes.
The position averages about 40 hours per month, with a variable weekly commitment ranging from 6 to 16 hours, the majority of which is performed remotely. Remote office space is a must. The Administrator helps coordinate and is on-site for SPaN’s annual 10 to 12 professional development workshops. The administrator will share responsible of a large spring conference, with an increase of 5-10 hours expected per week during the months of January through April.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to marketing materials preparation and dissemination; managing marketing and membership databases; daily communications; event, calendar and website administration; as well as, some web-based tech support for our members and customers. SPaN currently utilizes Access, Outlook, Word, Excel, Constant Contact, Weebly, Google Drive, and GotoWebinar.
An Associates or B.A. is preferred, though, strong relevant work experience may substitute for higher education degree.
