 This position is 100% remote only.

This is a full-time remote work only position responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of the College’s operations on a monthly, annual and ad-hoc basis. The Manager monitors financial transactions from federal, state, local and private sources; ensures accounting transactions are in compliance with GAAP, federal, state and College’s policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

Manages the day-to-day accounting functions which include: chart of accounts maintenance, property accounting, general ledger, bank accounts, and sponsored grant funds reconciliations.
Manages the financial reporting functions of the College consistent with standard accounting practices and policies.
Prepares the financial statements for the College and Foundation, including providing financial data to federal, state, the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), Foundation board or sponsors.
Prepares reimbursement requests and financial status reports according to contract, agency and college procedures; reconcile grant sponsored accounts; check for compliance and cash flow status; resolve issues with grantors.
Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the financial records.
Coordinates the fiscal year-end processes and prepares the Annual Financial Report.
Supervises accounting staff.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks in a prompt and accurate manner.
Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records and generate reports. Must be proficient with MS Excel. Experience with Ellucian Banner systems and Argos reporting software desired.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) years increasingly responsible accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education experience.
Minimum three (3) years experience directing or managing accounting professionals and operations.
A background check will be required for the successful candidate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) desired.

Physical Working Conditions:

Work is conducted remotely at a home office and/or virtual location and involves use of standard office equipment, such as computer, phone, copier, etc. Job is primarily sedentary involving sitting for long periods of time, but may involve occasional walking or standing for brief periods. Job may also involve occasional light lifting of items or objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

The Salary Range for the position is:  Commensurate with the College’s pay scale
