As the Operational Excellence / Process Documentation Specialist, you will leverage your Lean Six Sigma and Project Management knowledge, skills and abilities to partner with stakeholders to define, measure, analyze, improve and control organizational business processes and projects. Working directly for the COO, you will have unique access and insight to all facets of organizational strategy, growth options and business activities. You should have a passion for innovation, a high degree of professional curiosity and a data driven creativity. This position offers a high-visibility opportunity as a key contributor to our growth strategy, as well as positions of increasing responsibility and leadership within Southwest Material Handling Inc.


In this role you can expect to:

  • Lead and conduct detailed process documentation activities across all functional departments
  • Develop operating instructions, manuals and SOPs to help users understand technical concepts and process information more easily
  • Manage the process of developing and implementing processes and procedures, including interviewing stakeholders, gathering the required information and identifying deliverables
  • Identifying problems with the current business model / process and lead the documentation of process change
  • Overseeing the implementation of approved process improvements
  • Teach, coach, and implement Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) behaviors across the organization
  • Lead strategic projects across all organizational departments
  • Analyze data across organizational ERP, Accounting and CRM systems of record using research, technical skills, business acumen, and strong communication skills
  • Query, organize, interpret, and visualize data to inform decision-making
  • Carry out training sessions, mentoring and workshops to guide relevant teams

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for customer service, strong organizational skills and a desire for continued growth within the role. Highly desired skills include:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSS-BB) certification and experience
  • Project Management (PMP) certification and experience
  • Process Documentation certification and experience
  • Experience in operational analysis to evaluate business performance and identify trends
  • Experience with querying data to conduct analysis of metrics and model business questions
  • Ability to analyze trends and provide data driven recommendations for growth
  • Advance use of Excel, databases and data analysis software
  • Possess data modeling skills
  • Proficient planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making skills
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
