Entry Level Commercial Account Executive / Account Manager

If you are currently working as a Commercial Lines CSR or Personal Lines Account Executive / Account Manager this is a great opportunity to move into a Commercial Account Executive role.

We are a leading insurance broker in the Chicago area looking for an insurance professional who is looking to advance their career. This individual will be handling the detail and follow up work in conjunction with their customers. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with clients and will work closely with producers on the producer’s accounts and prospects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Marketing of the Producers new and renewal accounts.

  • At the direction of producer, prepare company submissions for new business quotes and prepare proposals of insurance for new Commercial Lines clients.

  • Review proposals, applications, policies, endorsements and audits for accuracy.

  • Prepare account summaries as required.

  • Process policies, and related documents.

  • Maintain suspense items in a timely manner on the agency management system.

  • Maintain all client activity in the agency automation system.

  • Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.

  • Help other agency personnel on technical insurance matters when needed.

  • Service Commercial Lines accounts as assigned.

  • Service commercial lines accounts in a manner to eliminate gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposures.

  • The individual will prioritize work load and/or request for assistance as required.

  • Follow up on insureds requests generated from appointments with insureds.

  • Assist in all cross-selling activities with respective departments.

  • Keep producer fully informed of all important activities on their accounts.

  • Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by producer or management.

    Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience with commercial property and casualty account management.

  • Effective time management skills necessary to prioritize workflow and manage priorities.

  • Ability to influence outcomes through professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility.

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal oversight is required

  • Strong background in and able to use Applied TAM agency management system effectively

  • An active P&C License is required
