Immigration Attorney Associate

Southern Law Center PL is seeking a hardworking, driven Associate Attorney to help empower immigrants to navigate the United States immigration process so they can start an enriching new life for themselves and their families.

We need an experienced associate to join our team and work directly with the owners and support staff to help our clients. The associate's most important task will be to handle hearings in immigration courts and USCIS interviews.

The candidate must be bilingual, either English/Spanish or English/Russian, and would work in our Coral Springs, Florida office. The candidate can speak Portuguese as a plus.

Responsibilities

•Handle proceedings and interviews with Immigration Courts and USCIS.
•Fully manage a client's immigration case from beginning to end.
•Provide full immigration services such as family immigration, employment immigration, asylum, etc.
•Meet with clients and propose strategies.
•Assign tasks to Paralegals and Legal Assistants and check their work.
•Research and analyze legal problems.
•Interpret rules, regulations, and rulings that apply to people and companies.
•Articulate facts in both written and verbal forms to clients and others and defend clients' interests.

Qualifications

Requirements for the ideal candidate:

•You have experience with immigration law.
•You are a driven, self-starter.
•You are comfortable being a zealous advocate for your client in immigration proceedings.
•You maintain your composure when under pressure and fast-approaching deadlines.
•You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly.
•You do not think scanning and copying are "beneath you".
•High-maintenance people that gravitate toward drama need not apply.

Education/Requirements:

•Graduate from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in Florida.
•Be in good standing with the Bar Association.
•Bi-Lingual - Spanish or Russian is a plus.
