MRI Technician

Responsible for assisting physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures such as coronary angiograms, stent placement, pacemaker/ICD insertion and replacement, peripheral vascular angiograms and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities Role Specific Responsibilities
  • Tech I - Circulates, scrubs and monitors diagnostic left heart caths, right heart caths, coronary interventions and diagnostic peripheral vascular angiograms.
  • Tech I - Performs x-ray, scrubs and monitors diagnostic left heart caths, right heart caths, coronary interventions and diagnostic peripheral vascular angiograms
  • Tech II Circulates, scrubs and monitors peripheral vascular interventions, complex coronary interventions and implantable cardiac devices.
  • Tech II - Performs x-ray, scrubs and monitors for peripheral vascular interventions, complex coronary interventions and implantable cardiac devices.
  • Tech III - Circulates, scrubs and monitors for AAAs, carotid stents and ASD/PFO procedures.
  • Tech III - Performs x-ray, scrubs and monitors for AAAs, carotid stents and ASD/PFO procedures.
  • Assist in daily management of inventory (All levels)
Qualifications Education
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Radiology Technology required. RCIS certification with at least 2 years cath lab experience will be considered in lieu of Associates Degree.
  • Licenses and Certification
  • Current RN Illinois License or x-ray license required
  • ARRT required for techs
  • RCIS certification is required to attain Tier III.
  • CPR
