The Medical Sales Specialist is responsible for achieving incremental sales growth from strategic medical sales accounts for SAS.
Responsible for growing medical sales revenue by leveraging inside sales strategies.
Service medical target accounts across all product categories to increase sales in existing accounts.
Acquire targeted new medical accounts that will lead to future growth for SAS.
Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process.
Collaborate with management to determine strategic sales approaches and objections/road blocks.
Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service demonstrations and other sales actions when required.
Sell complimentary services such as compliance training and Rx destruction to provide customer loyalty and downstream value as well as increase share of wallet and ROI.
Support marketing efforts such as tradeshows, exhibits and other events with travel and preparation activities.
Work within pricing guidelines to secure revenue and GP growth that is profitable in the medical sales division.
Document all efforts and status for each assigned account to optimize all sales and marketing opportunities and sales results.
Communicate medical product gaps, medical competitive data, new medical service opportunities and pricing objectives to leadership.
Work closely with Sales and Customer Service, Purchasing, Sales Support, and Supplier Management to understand inventory, product shortages, product lines and promotions.
Work closely with DEA/Compliance to ensure that SAS is complying with all distribution regulations into the medical industry.
Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues and maintain accurate notes and information.
Provide excellent customer service for assigned medical accounts in addition to improving sales initiatives.
Perform routine follow up calls as needed or scheduled based on the strategic plan.
Use company-provided metrics and reporting as the basis for communication with management.
Assist in completing sales projects including proposals and marketing.
Travel, as needed, but not limited to: customer visits, tradeshows, business meetings, etc. – about 10%.
Perform any other duties, as assigned.
Experience with Microsoft products, especially Outlook and Excel. Experience with Salesforce
A High School Degree is required. A minimum of 3 years of sales experience is required, preferably in the Medical, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical industry.
The successful candidate must pass a training program that consists of learning computer systems, product information, top pharmaceuticals, customer groups, customer needs, internal processes and procedures, phone etiquette, selling skills and customer service skills. This training program usually takes 6 – 8 weeks.
