Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

The IT Administrator is responsible for working with the Technology team of SouthPoint, in keeping SouthPoint’s computer network running efficiently, as well as secure. The IT Administrator will also be responsible for ensuring servers are fully updated, patched and secure. This position involves creating procedures and testing to ensure policy compliance. This position is responsible for the health of the network, servers, and security at SouthPoint, its affiliate companies and related sub brands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  1. Assists with design and maintaining network hardware.
  2. Aids in developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, security, and disaster recovery.
  3. Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers including email and backup.
  4. Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  5. Works with Director of IT to give recommendations on hardware and software.
  6. Assists with management and maintenance of our security solutions in accordance with NIST and FFIEC standards.
  7. Assists with collecting of information for annual security audits and assessments.
  8. Installation, maintenance and monitoring of all network hardware and equipment, including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, modems, UPS, load balancers, and other equipment.
  9. Assists with development of network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information.
  10. Responsible for creation and maintenance of end user accounts, permissions, and access rights, including Active Directory and o365.
  11. Maintains meticulous documentation and diagrams of the entire technology environment throughout the organization with frequent review.
  12. Monitors and test network performance as well as providing network performance statistics and reports.
  13. Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs, while documenting all changes.
  14. Validation of policy and procedures through testing.
  15. Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule, or as needed.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Attend meetings, conferences, seminars, and training courses.
  2. Assist as necessary with Credit Union exams/audits.
  3. Abide by all Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities for this role.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s or Associates degree in computer science, information technology, or 4+ years’ experience in a high-level related field is required.
  2. IS/T certifications such as CompTIA Nework+, Security+, MCSA preferred, but not required.
  3. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including Cisco, Aruba, and SonicWALL. Knowledge and understanding of Windows, Linux, VMware, Cloud Concepts, Azure, Microsoft O365, and Microsoft Teams.
  4. Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  5. Perform effectively in a complex changing environment with proven successes in collaboration, communication, & critical thinking.
  6. Excellent verbal, presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills. Use influence and persuasion effectively. Ability to work collaboratively.
  7. Knowledge of applicable data privacy as it relates to credit unions.
  8. Understands and is familiar with the requirements and guidelines set forth in FFIEC and NIST framework.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday performing the job.
  2. Working at computer 98% of the day.
  3. Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
  4. Occasional lifting, up to thirty pounds.


WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting.
