Entry Level Accountant

Our Accounting Assistant position is responsible for timely and accurate billing of accounts receivable activities. They will also provide support for the entire Accounting Department and backup coverage as necessary.
In this position, person will be responsible for:
Timely posting of all Client A/R transactions, including charges, adjustments and payments.
- Produce and send electronic statements for monthly blood bank, medical directorships, and Technical Component charges.
- Work aging reports to identify client collections problems and take appropriate action to ensure receipt of payments. Follow-up on outstanding balances via phone and email.
- Timely research and resolution of credit balances and account discrepancies.
Assist in the monthly financial close process.
- Preparation and posting of assigned journal entries.
- Prepares necessary G/L account reconciliations.
- Performs account analysis and other duties, as needed.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements.
- Provide support to the annual budget and audit processes, as requested.
Provices back-up to Entry Level Accountant
Requirements:
Associate degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance would be a plus.
Requires 1-3 years experience working in a business office, preferably in an accounting position.
Experience utilizing accounting software, 10-key calculators and data entry skills are essential.
Must possess the ability to meet tight deadlines and be detail oriented in every aspect of the position.
Self-starter with the ability to work with a high degree of discretion and independent judgement.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills to interact effectively with all levels within the organization and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to aid in the identification and resolution of complex issues and problems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
Previous healthcare experience, preferred
