Our business has seen exponential growth in the past few years, and we are constantly required to adapt to bring ease in our day-to-day operations.

We are seeking a full-time Operations Manager to join our team. They will report to the VP of Operations, who is an Industrial and Systems Engineer looking to bring on an additional driven and friendly Industrial Engineer to partner with in bringing ease to our day-to-day operations and supercharge growing our business. The VP of Operations oversees two company-wide service divisions, including Operations (focused on quality and first-time-right day-to-day work) and Ops Scalability (focused on growing the business). The Operations Manager will partner with the VP of Operations to help lead efforts around the day-to-day Operations Division. Highlights for this role include managing our purchasing team, managing supply chain logistics with our vendors and warehouse distribution partner, taking lead around data analytics for our product quality, supporting project management efforts where needed, generating improvements to our processes for efficiency, and overall managing day-to-day operations across the company. The ideal person will apply Lean best practices to help with process efficiencies and automation efforts where possible. The Operations Manager will wear many different hats to fill gaps and help create frameworks that will increase sustainable operations and result in growing our business with ease.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide continual support for the VP of Operations with software/platform implementations, automation of business operations, Lean process engineering, project management/workflow system (Wrike) admin support, departmental process support, data analytics support, problem solutioning company-wide, and general Industrial Engineering support as projects and needs arise.
  • Purchasing: Act as team manager (with two direct reports) overseeing inventory mgmt, vendor mgmt, new product mgmt, process improvement, and negotiations/cost management. Collaborate with many other divisions to hit key deadlines, while solving supply chain challenges in real time.
  • Industrial Engineering: Leverage operational excellence best practices, business process optimization techniques, and Lean principles to create unique solutions for complex problems or generate new opportunities across the company.
  • Business Process Engineering: Support departmental and company-wide process improvements with Lean and value-chain mapping best practices. Possess strong collaboration skills and effective listening capabilities to recommend ideal solutions that serve holistically and meet all needs.
  • Quality: Lead our weekly quality meetings to understand root cause, assign accountability to fix issues, and partner with our data analytics and customer experience teams to support improving the customer experience overall.
  • Data Analytics: Support our data analytics division (within Ops Scalability) to help our Sr Data Analyst roll out needed dashboards/metrics across the organization.
  • Other projects and duties as needs arise.


Recommended Skills/Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Business process engineering experience of 5+ years (applying Lean and Operational Excellence best practices to business processes in a non-manufacturing environment).
  • Supply chain knowledge and 2+ years’ experience (purchasing, receiving, or equivalent).
  • Project management experience of 1+ years; must be able to create high-level holistic plans and break all areas of project into detailed plan/phases.
  • Upbeat and positive personality with friendly written communications. Ideally collaborative and directive when required to meet goals.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to create sustainable long-term solutions and quick wins for short-term solutions.
  • Proactive, results-driven, reliable, and able to work independently and prioritize with good time management skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent and concise written and verbal communication skills (requires ability to provide executive summaries).
  • Working knowledge of ERP software (ex SAP, SAGE, NetSuite) and workflow mgmt software (ex Wrike).
  • Working knowledge around Publishing print production a plus (papers, bindings, covers, colors, treatments, signatures, press tests, etc.).
