Job Title: Director of Nursing – Georgia OperationsDepartment: NursingLocation: Augusta Georgia officeFLSA Status: ExemptReports to: State Director/ VP of Operations-Georgia Summary:Plan, organize, develop, direct and supervise the overall operations of CG- GEORGIA Nursing department. Provide leadership, collaborative support, and oversight to the Area Nurses on an ongoing basis. Demonstrates full support of Caregiver’s mission statement, values, and vision, thus integrating those ethics into the work process and making a positive contribution to the organization’s culture and climate. Works in coordination with the other Directors and Managers when implementing company-wide nursing systems, policies and procedures, and is accountable for ensuring these systems are being enforced accurately by the nurse(s). Role is instrumental in creating and leading a cross functional quality team to provide clinical quality management and outcomes for the healthcare system of Caregiver. Supports continuous survey certification readiness and leads quality improvement activities that enhance patient-centered care and delivers value-based care. Leads decision-making and effective implementation of clinical quality service-line strategies, programs, and initiatives. Ensures the identification and monitoring of quality indicators and outcomes, collection and analysis of data, and the achievement of Nursing and GA BON standards. Collaborates with QA management, and regulatory compliance, to ensure adherence with the executive leadership, vision, mission, and values of the organization. Essential & Supervisory Responsibilities include the following:Reviews and monitors the Quality Assurance medical record audits in order to identify individual’s health needs, trends, or breakdown in systems. Supervision of all Agency Nurses, ensuring that they are monitoring the health data information of the individuals served, in coordination with the Program Coordinator(s) while ensuring the staff remain competent. Monitors follow up to major medical health issues and ensure corrections have been made and preventive system-wide processes have been trained on and implemented. Enforces Nursing policies and procedures to adapt to industry standards while maintaining Indiana specific compliance. With assistance from HR, monitors and tracks the state mandated Medication Certification process, and ensure CG- GEORGIA is in compliant with the process. Reviews all possible health related risks and system failures as they relate to internal or external investigations, and in coordination with the Program Quality Coordinator, directs a plan of correction for any areas that result in less than minimal nursing standards being met. Monitors and directs the Agency Nurse(s) during recertification surveys, intermittent surveys & investigations, to ensure all nursing responsibilities are in compliance with accepted standards of nursing practice. Attends required operations meetings and provides ongoing and clinical supervision, training and support to nursing staff as the need arises through face to face meetings, email, text messages, or phone calls. Assist staff when indicated in obtaining appropriate medical services for the individuals. Coordinate with members of the Leadership team to facilitate and contribute to the overall CG- GEORGIA initiatives as they relate to the nursing department. Acts as the key leader for various nursing projects as they arise and are assigned. Contributes to the design and ongoing refinement of the clinical tools used to train the nursing team on Waiver billing expectations. Advises Leadership as to the current, ongoing, and future state of the CG- GEORGIA nursing department, and makes recommendations for clinical management system revisions and changes. Develops plans, conducts studies and makes recommendations reactive to developing new nursing initiatives as the need arises. Develops and maintains all Clinical training modules, Nursing OJT Objectives for TX company-wide issues as they apply to state or federal applicable rule changes. Reviews health related risks and system failures and directs a plan of correction for any areas that result minimal nursing standards not being met. Identify and lead key nursing Initiatives including:Tele-Medicine/Tele-Health or other forms of newly implemented technologyPharmaceutical Project ManagementClinical Software Development and ImplementationIntegration of nursing systems with mergers and acquisitionsNursing Department Restructure as indicated Miscellaneous/other duties:Actively participates with other internal and or external nursing professionals, clinical staff, quality assurance staff, and other professionals that work in the DD industry to support and promote a interdisciplinary, holistic approach to nursing care across the continuum of the individual’s needs.Attends meetings with Leadership as needed.Participation in Corporate and Industry driven calls/meetings as the need arises.Attends industry driven conferences as needed.Serves as member of agency wide committees as needed. Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of accepted standards of nursing practice and ability to apply knowledge in daily work activities and provide instruction and direction.Must be organized, a skilled communicator, director and motivator, with the ability to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively. Ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; has broad knowledge and perspective; is future oriented, and looking at visions of possibilities and likelihoods.Considerable high level assessment skills of individual’s health status and to provide appropriate interventions and direction to other staff. Education and/or Experience:BSN preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Possession of valid RN license from the Georgia Board of Nurse Examiners or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with at least 1-2 years of nursing management experience.IDD nursing experience preferred but not required with strong management background.Strong leadership, organization, communication, negotiation and analytic skills. Exhibits excellent oral communication skills, while maintaining two-way dialogue with others on tasks and results.
