Senior Financial Advisor

WORK DESCRIPTION:

Leads and manages financial management training for Mission staff and implementing partners

Advises on risk mitigation and management policies, strategies and options that promote the safeguarding of organizational resources

Trains, coaches, and mentors a team including Accounting Technicians, Accountants, Voucher Examiners, Chief Accountants and Financial Analysts on all aspects of financial management and customer-centric communication skills.

This requires guiding staff in developing, implementing, and monitoring long-term and weekly work plans to meet the needs of the Mission and its customers.

Performs financial management functions including budgeting, accounting, payments, and financial advisory

Leads financial management reviews, audits, and systems assessments, including quarterly financial reviews and annual Financial reviews

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
Applications will be initially screened by the Human Resources Office to determine whether applicants have met the advertised minimum qualifications. A list of qualified applicants will be referred to the hiring office for further consideration and screening.

EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent level in accounting, finance, or business administration is required

WORK EXPERIENCE: A Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience performing and supervising financial management operations, including accounting, budget formulation and execution, financial analysis, and management controls is required. A strong working knowledge of financial management systems is required. An understanding of how projects are designed, developed, implemented, and evaluated is required.
