Software Development Team Lead

Solution Street is looking for a Software Development Team lead to own and lead all technical aspects of an exciting new SaaS application. As lead, you will be part of an agile software development team building a .NET Core/C# SaaS application hosted on the AWS cloud environment. You will provide technical leadership through coaching and mentoring of the development team and you will be responsible for making key technical decisions, ensuring the successful delivery of key product features, maintaining good code quality, clearing roadblocks impeding the velocity of the development, and planning/executing a tactical as well as a strategic technical roadmap for the application. This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to roll up your sleeves, write code, and lead by example.

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, and unit tests key features of the application code
  
• Takes responsibility in making key strategic and tactical technical decisions that will ensure the implementation of initiatives and quickly clears development impediments
  
• Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  
• Guides software development teams through coaching sessions or mentorship
  
• Identifies and encourages areas for growth and improvement within the team
  
• Leads peer-reviews of solution designs and related code for key features of the application
  
• Leads the packaging and deployment of releases
  
• Has a high level understanding of available technical solutions; researches and evaluates a variety of software products and libraries to make key technical decisions and recommendations
  
• Collaborates with the development project manager to ensure requirements are met, delivered accurately and on time
  
• Assesses opportunities for application code and process improvements and helps implement improvements with team members and other affected parties
  

Qualifications:

• Required:
  
• 5+ years of experience as a software developer
  
• Highly proficient in .NET Core framework and C# full stack development
  
• Highly proficient with data modeling, SQL, RDBMS (SQL Server preferred)
  
• Extensive experience in defining and implementing RESTful (API) services
  
• Experience designing and coding secure solutions, follows OWASP and industry standard security practices
  
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  
• Superb organizational and time management skills
  
• Great collaboration and communication skills
  

• Preferred:
  
• Prior experience in a technical leadership position
  
• Experience with SaaS product development and/or multi-tenant architectures
  
• Experience with Angular (or a similar JavaScript framework)
  
• Experience designing and implementing integrations with 3rd party API and Services
  
• Experience with cloud environment(s) for development and deployment (AWS preferred)
  
• Experience with message queues, asynchronous/background processing
  
• Experience with production deployments including:
  
• logging and health alerting
  
• debugging and solving production issues
  
• security and performance monitoring
  

***Hybrid role*** Ideally candidate can come in to Solution Street Office in Herndon approximately 2x per month.
