POSITION PURPOSE

The Sales Process and Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of Q2$ process along with generating and developing new accounts while maintaining the highest level of integrity and always working in the best interests of Solterra Materials, and our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a scalable quote to cash processes including implementation of new quote / tracking system, implement ViewPoint Material Sales Module, streamlining invoicing process, and ensuring proper pre-lien processes are followed
  • Develop Selling KPIs
  • Develop process for measuring annual market demand by segment
  • Manage a handful of existing customer accounts
  • Develop new accounts and business opportunities
  • Attend customer and industry related functions as required
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.

SAFETY

  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
  • All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Serves as a safety ambassador by complying with federal, state, and local laws, as well as Company safety policy, enforces safe work practices, and proactively identifies and remedies worksite hazards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to travel to meet with our customers, visit jobsites and attend industry functions.
  • Must be willing to work nights or weekends when it's in the best interest of the customer.
  • Must be able to operate vehicles and trailers in a safe manner, in compliance with local, state, and federal traffic laws.
  • Must operate equipment, machinery, and other tools in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Must be able to work outside, frequently and for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in a variety of different situations.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds.
  • While working the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, gases, and uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS

  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL

  • Minimal travel may be required, with advanced notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 10 or more years in a construction materials role
  • Working knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in the construction materials industry
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct themselves professionally
  • Must be able to handle heated conversations with emotional intelligence
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and keep well organized
  • Flexible hours and work locations required

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean motor-vehicle record.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
