School-based Occupational Therapist Job for Summer in Leesburg, Virginia

Job Title: School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) for Summer Program in Leesburg, VA

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with students in a summer program in Leesburg, VA. This is a temporary, school-based position, and the successful candidate will work closely with students to improve their academic and functional skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on each student's individual needs and goals
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve fine motor, sensory processing, visual perceptual, and daily living skills
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to provide the best possible care for each student
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment plans

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Virginia
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with school-aged children
• Experience with a variety of treatment approaches and modalities, including sensory integration, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents
• Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks

The summer program will run for approximately 8 weeks, starting in early June and ending in early August. The OT will work on a part-time basis, for approximately 20 hours per week. The specific schedule and location of services will be determined in collaboration with the school district.
