Job Description

The Critical Power group within in SolarEdge is a leader in UPS technology, servicing clients in multiple countries for decades.  This position provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to join the Critical Power SolarEdge North America Team and have a major part in leading the Company’s UPS sales efforts in the critical power industry.

The Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for providing pre-sales customer support and training for SolarEdge Critical Power products

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical team contact in the North America area for the sales channel.
  • Review quotes/bids/POs for technical compatibility with SEDG products
  • Oversee third party products for compatibility
  • Promote technical aspects of SEDG UPS products via seminars and conferences
  • Development of general and NAM specific White Papers in concert with IL and NAM sales staff
  • Manage future application engineering staff
  • Maintain submittal packages for all UPS sizes and series 
  • Maintain submittal packages for all peripherals from 3rd party vendors (batteries, battery cabinets, bypasses, PDU’s, RPP’s, RSAP, battery chargers)
  • Provide presales technical support to RSMs, Engineers, Contractors, ASP, and resell partners
  • Create quotes and bid packages for RSMs and partners
  • Review specs and drawings and recommend solutions
  • Provide technical and sales training to partners
  • Speak at webinars and industry events
  • Travel to customer sites to conduct site walks and training  
  • Compose or modify existing Single Line Drawings and Outline/Layout drawings for custom equipment
  • Be technical, in country, liaison to 3rd party vendors


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent required, MS helpful
  • 3 - 7 years’ experience in UPS industry.
  • Excellent industry knowledge of competition, market trends, etc.
  • Strong communication skills including listening and handling objections and complex technical inquiries in the pre-sales meetings.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong time and project management skills to proactively build trust and confidence as a remote employee
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and develop relationships internally and externally.
