Job Summary

SmartStop Self Storage is currently seeking an SEO/SEM expert to be our Digital Marketing Manager at the corporate office in Ladera Ranch. The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing SEO, SEM, and website strategies. They will also be responsible for the growth of organic traffic and revenue across multiple web properties, the development and execution of SEO strategy, and the implementation of on-site optimization related to page titles, URLs, redirects, internal link structures, SEO copy editing, and sitemap review/maintenance. Their main focuses will be managing all SEM campaigns across various platforms and sites in order to maximize ROI and SEO strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks to increase website traffic.


  • Improve existing and/or develop & implement new SEO and SEM strategy
  • Manage paid advertising efforts through Google Ads and potentially Bing Ads
  • Perform ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for SEO/SEM
  • Research and analyze competitor keywords and links
  • Define KPIs, executing measurements and analyzing overall performance
  • Utilize data from Google Analytics and other sources to prepare and present reports regularly on campaign efforts
  • Create effective on-page and off-page SEO recommendations to improve organic traffic
  • Work with web developers and marketing team to properly implement SEO/SEM best practices
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in search campaigns
  • Stay up to date with the latest SEO/SEM and digital marketing latest trends
  • Measure and analyze the results of all ongoing SEO and PPC efforts; and have the ability to make data-driven, strategic decisions
  • Develop strategies to drive traffic to website and convert to leads
  • Improve interface and onsite errors such as mobility issues, broken links, redirect and crawl errors.
  • Potentially assisting with the social media strategy for the company


  • 3-6 years of experience in SEO/SEM and/or online marketing with a successful track record, either in-house or at an agency in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing concepts, social media, and SEO best practices
  • Experience in using SEO data tools like: Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, SEMrush, Ahrefs
  • Strong quantitative skills, ability to quickly analyze data and act on it
  • Experience with optimizing/creating PPC campaigns to increase traffic, conversion rates/ROI
  • Ability to be aware of a monthly marketing budget and not exceed it
  • Above average technical computer skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task
  • Growth mindset, bringing new ideas to the table and seeking constant improvements and growth
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for digital marketing overall – an interest in all things digital

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s Degree
