Senior Architect/Developer

Job Summary:

Slide is looking for a Senior Architect/Developer to help us architect and develop our insurance applications, supporting automated and streamlined experiences for our employees and customers. In this role, you will design and develop our internal and external facing solutions and experiences, using technologies and platforms such as Duck Creek Policy/Billing/Claims management, .NET (C#), ASP.NET, XML, XSLT, AngularJS, microservices, SQL Server and other relational/non-relational databases. You will capitalize on your education and experience to build flexible architecture and support software development and implementation. You will work side by side with other developers, honing your design and development methodologies as well as participate in design sessions, code reviews, and best practices development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide architectural strategy and direction for integrating multiple diverse applications to Duck Creek Core systems.
• Build flexible Technology architecture to support the achievement of corporate business objectives.
• Develop enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features.
• Work with a team to develop software solutions based on product and business requirements.
• Assist in deriving software product requirements and analyze for completeness and feasibility.
• Design, prototype, develop, document, and unit test solutions on a project-by-project basis.
• Communicate solutions thoroughly through documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• Aid in identifying problem areas and refactoring solutions for scalability and to reduce technical debt.
• Assist the delivery team with any issues/challenges related to design, code, and usability.
• Collaborate with a distributed delivery team to share best practices.
• Follow best practice software development lifecycle and methodologies.
• Write testable, scalable, and efficient code and lead code reviews.
• Be willing to perform other duties, as they arise.

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:

• S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
• 5-8 years of experience designing and developing software solutions using .NET (C#), ASP.NET, SQL Server programming, XML, XSLT.
• Experience applying and utilizing enterprise architecture standards.
• In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
• Experience managing code versioning, review, build, and deploy using technologies such as Github, Gitlab, and Bitbucket.
• Experience implementing insurance management applications using technologies and platforms such as Duck Creek Policy/Billing/Claims management is desired.
• Experience with AngularJS, microservices, relational and non-relational DBs, Azure/AWS cloud environments is desired.
• Experience with cloud SaaS deployment, and cloud-based DevOps in an Azure/AWS cloud environments is desired.
