The Master Electrician is responsible for guiding and motivating employees, prioritizing and assigning work to electricians, help colleagues work together as a team and ensure the company is delivering excellent customer service. Ensure employee morale is good so the business can runs effectively. Daily organize and delegate workload as well as monitoring to ensure work is done correctly and safely. The Master Electrician is responsible for assigning, coordinating and tracking employee work assignments as well as reviewing work orders, monitoring the safety and well-being of employees, and recording work completed. Plans, estimates, guides, and performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of electrical and electrical related equipment. Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing problems in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the Master Electrician requires 10 years of formal training and experience, licensing as an electrician within the State for which work will be accomplished, and at least 5 years' experience mentoring and guiding electrical maintenance personnel.
+ Responsible for replacing lamps and ballasts.
+ Responsible for cleaning lighting fixtures, outlet repairs and/or replacement, various switches and other connections, sensors and ground fault interrupters, and performing miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
+ Major and minor electrical repairs including, but not limited to; switch gear, transformers, and circuit breakers
+ Must be able to identify and install conductors per NEC rules.
+ Performs routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with NEC.
+ Ability to install and or repair wiring, electrical and major and minor electronic components.
+ Inspect, operate and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
+ Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams.
+ Keep records of maintenance, work performed and cost of work.
+ Restore fixture to proper operating condition and lighting to current Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) standards.
+ Must be able to drive up to a 1-ton pickup truck.
+ Must wear PPE as required.
+ Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights.
+ Must be CPR/First aid qualified.
+ Must be able to work from heights, ladders and man lifts.
+ Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
+ Licensed by the State of Maryland Master Electrician License.
+ Minimum of 5 years industrial electrical experience and 5 years of high voltage experience.
+ Experience in all areas of general contracting/industrial maintenance.
+ Ability to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts.
+ Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
+ Ability to work in team environment.
+ Must be able to communicate with others in a courteous and helpful way.
+ Job requires: good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, a good sense of balance and the ability to distinguish different color of wires.
+ You must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as back shift and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Curtis Bay installation clearance and CAC card.
A valid state driver license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by insurance company.
