Skookum is seeking a reliable and technically skilled Automotive Worker. The Automotive Worker performs a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain all motor vehicles, to include military vehicles such as HMMWV's, FMTV's, HEMTT's, STRYKER's, TRAILER's, GEN set's, and small engines.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
+ Able to accomplish and perform services as outlined above in the job summary in accordance with established technical manuals.
+ Must be able to perform 10 and 20 level preventative maintenance checks and services to include an initial and final road test (minimum of five miles).
+ Must be able to perform checks on brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs and steering systems.
+ Maintains required work, time, material, and equipment maintenance records to update equipment service workbook and daily task sheets.
+ Assist on major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts.
+ Must be knowledgeable of the regulations on hazardous material, hazardous waste, and the right to know information sheets.
+ Knowledge of Class IX serviceable turn-in and recoverable items.
+ Must have ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain stamina to perform assigned duties.
+ Will be required to use repetitive motion, reach, lift, kneel, walk, and stand for several hours at a time.
+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
+ Must be able to work independently at a fast pace.
+ Minimum 3 years light, medium, or heavy truck experience.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain installation access.
+ Valid State Driver License required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance carrier.
+ Must be able to provide a general mechanic's toolbox.
+ Must be knowledgeable in maintenance of military vehicles and equipment.
+ Must be able to read, understand, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair.
