SkillSetGroup is looking for a Project Assistant to work with an established Sport Flooring manufacturer in San Diego, CA. This new team member will be responsible for working closely with Project Managers, Vendors and Employees on project coordination, account management, document control, and other essential functions of day to day project related activities. This is a key role in a small, growing organization. The chosen candidate must have 2-3 years' maintaining project records, monitoring/adjusting budgets, handling Regulatory paperwork, and managing customer accounts with stellar Customer Service. Reporting skills and advanced Excel experience is a must. Construction industry is a huge plus. This is a daytime position and will be a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.

Job description

  • Filter and/or manage day-to-day communications with vendors, customers and employees
  • Manage ongoing projects; timelines, human resources, material management and cost
  • Manage managers schedule & travel needs
  • Assist in communication from the field to the support center while following up on any support related needs
  • Provide support when needed to COO & President
  • Represent the Manager in his absences as requested
  • Provide extremely high level of customer service to all client
  • Complete reports and presentations as needed
  • Setup and maintain organizational charting, systems & procedures
  • Assist in picking up guest, employees, vendors and/or clients as needed
  • Manage corporate meetings, venues and parties
  • Maintaining project records/customer records
  • Preparing and maintaining estimate sheets, proposals, change orders
  • Maintaining customer/contact information and data base
  • Coordinating with home office
  • Initial budgets, revised budgets, final excels
  • General project communication as circumstances warrant
  • Project administration
  • Invoicing customers (final billings and progress billings)
  • Contract administration/change orders/warranties/ submittals
  • Purchase orders, order tracking, freight and shipping
  • Work orders, payments to installers


  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Construction industry is a plus
  • Strong MS office skills, especially in Excel (proven by testing)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Great communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good job stability and career minded
