About the Position: The Program Manager – Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) manages a group of remote Project Managers and Project Coordinators responsible for the successful execution of installations and upgrades for wired and wireless High-Speed Internet Access. The Program Manager - MDU is responsible for the overall direction, execution, control, and quality completion of a portfolio of projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, client commitments, and financial goals. The Program Manager - MDU role deals primarily with driving successful installations and upgrades for wired and wireless High-Speed Internet Access for SDI’s Multi-Dwelling business channels, which includes student housing, multi-family, and senior living. Be accountable for the overall business and technical success of all projects within your portfolio. Provide oversight, coaching and mentoring to team members ensuring that projects are delivered on time, and meet or exceed Single Digits quality and business objectives. Be the customer’s point of escalation for project communications and technical inquiries when Project Managers and Coordinators require assistance.
This includes scope of work review, risk assessment & management, project planning, progress tracking & reporting, management, internal & external customer communications, quality control and compliance assurance. Complete planning using independent discretion to ensure the projects are completed in a timely manner and in the financial best interests of the customer and the company. Directly manage subcontract resources in the technical execution of a scope of work specific to a customer location, with consultation from assigned internal engineering resources as needed Partner with Sales & Account Management to prepare for highly technical and/or highly visible projects in advance of the final sales contract Collaborate with Single Digits Partner teams to share QA and feedback on the workmanship provided by SDI installation partners Own and maintain project revenue forecasts, while Manage a steady pipeline of ongoing customer Projects within your portfolio, balancing concurrent projects at varying stages in the project lifecycle Be accountable for the financial and on-time project delivery targets for the MDU deployment business Identify and drive process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing overall workflow efficiencies and profitability for the assigned project portfolio Requirements BS/BA in a relevant field, or with equivalent experience 5-7 years of experience in a PGM or PM role, preferably managing technology projects within the MDU Industry Project Management certification highly preferred Process Improvement certification not required, but highly preferred Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.) Familiarity with all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) Networking certifications not required, but highly preferred Effective internal and external communication skills Expert level organization and task management abilities Experience in complex, structured cabling jobs that include interior/exterior Ability to work in office or from home as business needs dictate This role may require travel within driving distance and via air Business needs may dictate changes in travel expectations from time to time Benefits Full Time Position Medical Dental Vision discounts Domestic Partner benefits 401(K) with a company match Voluntary Life/AD&D Long Term Disability (LTD) Employee Assistance Program Health and Wellness Program Flexible Spending Account Holidays - 9 per calendar year Paid Time Off (PTO) Parental Leave
