Immediate opening for a Medical Billing Services Rep at our client, an “essential business”, located in La Jolla, CA who possess:

  • 2+ years of medical billing experience
  • Experience working with patient and 3rd party payer to update and collect payment progress and transactions
  • Must have experience with ICD-10 codes, Prior AUTH’s, OOP, Deductibles and more

FULL DESCRIPTION: Our client is seeking an additional Patient Services Associate to join their team. The company discovers, develops, and commercializes molecular-based diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive tests that support physicians in the treatment of patients with cancer. The company operates a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited diagnostic service laboratory in San Diego, CA. Our Patient Services Team is continuously evolving to become one of the important pieces of our company’s success. Patient Services specializes in patient contact, both inbound and outbound, addressing patient questions and concerns.

The selected candidate will further possess:

  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Proactive work ethic; strong people skills; positive attitude
  • Results driven individual with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent customer service skills with documented experience
  • Self-motivated and able to react quickly to make logical decisions
  • Must be able to start by 7:00 am M-F, with overtime as needed
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Medical or scientific background
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible in a changing environment
  • Active Listener; Patient and Empathetic
  • Team-Player with a “Can-do” attitude/ Multi-tasker
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Forward thinker – what is the next step I need to take to benefit the patient, the team or the company?
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Contacts privately insured patients to educate them on our billing process and Financial Assistance Program (FAP)
  • Cultivates patient relationships and trust
  • Learns, understands, and utilizes knowledge of billing processes and software
  • Ability to answer questions (or know where to find the answer) regarding aspects of our products, testing process, billing, etc.
  • Provides excellent service through continuous follow-up and follow through
  • Communicates with the Sales management as needed to ensure customer satisfaction, both in physician’s offices and with our patients
  • Works closely with other Patient Services Team members, Client Services, Sales, Billing, and the Lab
  • Data entry and help on various projects
  • Handles day-to-day requests from the Sales Team and other departments
