Immediate opening for a Field Applications Specialist I in Atlanta, GA who possesses:

  • BA/BS degree in biological sciences or chemistry. Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist degrees a plus.
  • 3+ years' experience with general laboratory techniques (e.g. pipetting)
  • Immunology background with firm understanding of immunoassays and the interaction between antibodies and antigens
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel 75%; must live close to a major airport (45 min)

FULL DESCRIPTION: The Field Application Specialist I will be responsible for conducting software upgrades, basic customer training, entry-level troubleshooting, and validation support.

The selected candidate will further possess:

  • Must be able to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada Monday through Friday as required, with occasional weekend travel, sometimes with only a short notice.
  • Travel up to 75% of the time and up to 90% during the initial new employee training phase.
  • BA/BS degree in biological sciences or chemistry. Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist degrees a plus.
  • Experience with general laboratory techniques, such as pipetting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of Excel is required
  • A firm understanding of immunoassays and the interaction between antibodies and antigens
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, ideally the statistical analysis pertaining to laboratory medicine

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform software upgrades as required on company distributed instrumentation
  • Conduct basic customer training as necessary on company distributed instrumentation
  • Provide basic telephone and on-site technical support for company instruments and assays to customers and other company personnel.
  • Assist Field Application Specialists II and Sr. Field Application Specialists with validation support including but not limited to: pipetting, running samples, data entry, and basic customer training.
  • Coordinate field service support with Engineers and Company Technical Service personnel
  • Maintain customer contact information and input cases into IFS.
  • Ensure correct documentation for product complaints
  • Maintain current product knowledge
  • Provide feedback on product performance with suggestions for product improvements and new product development
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
