The IT Cloud Engineer in an in-house or hosted environment, must have additional knowledge of skills required to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission cloud services. The IT Cloud Engineer role requires experience around technologies and techniques for automating provision and management of infrastructure in a distributed environment through scripting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Assist in the strategic cloud strategy plan execution and taking ownership of the engineering implementations, CIS best practices, and reviewing usage of billing purposes
  • Maintain operations of uptime and user availability to meet metrics and SLA objectives
  • Provide plans and execution for planned structure including user access controls that meet the objectives of the business while maintaining proper auditability
  • Assist in the design and roadmap planning to maintain growth and business requirement objectives
  • Make recommendations and operational policy improvements to the existing structures in a multi-cloud environment
  • On-call technical support is required as a 2nd line of technical defense to maintain business operations
  • Develop SLA’s and metrics that assist in business decisions and operational effectiveness
  • Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Company’s policies and procedures
  • Not to harm consumers with any act that could be misleading, unfair, deceptive, or abusive in act or practice

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and/or 5+ years’ equivalent work experience
  • Certifications in:
    • AWS Solutions Architect (Associate) or Cloud Practitioner
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
    • Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
    • GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
  • Experience with templates and other configurable items to enable automation
  • Familiarity with deployment techniques (and tools) in a distributed environment
  • Basic monitoring techniques in a dynamic environment
  • Design of self-healing and fault-tolerant services
  • Understanding of stateless and loosely coupled distributed applications
  • Familiarity developing with RESTful API interfaces
  • Basic understanding of relational and non-relational databases
  • Familiarity with messaging and queuing services
  • Infrastructure as Code: design and security, configuration management, integration, deployment, performance monitoring and tuning, automation of infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of one or more high-level programming languages (C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, etc.)

BANK SECRECY ACT 
Responsible for adhering to the reporting and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
