Behavioral Health Receptionist

Silver State Health Behavioral Health Receptionists are the first line of communication between a participant, a therapist, and a doctor, whether it’s on the phone or in person. They may answer questions or provide general information, or may direct a participant to a person who can provide more direct and specific information. Behavioral Health Receptionists are responsible for keeping, updating, and maintaining records by getting the appropriate information from the program participants, therapists, and psychiatrists. Being skilled in computer (EMR) software, as well as MO software, eg. excel spreadsheets, word processing, and other programs relevant to the clinic is necessary to perform the required tasks. Some receptionists may also be trained in coding or billing clients and insurance companies to complete the insurance eligibility task. Mental Health receptionists must have excellent communication and customer service and people skills, as well as be able to multitask and stay organized. It is important to be keenly aware of all services provided within the clinic and throughout the agency.

Job responsibilities:

· Greet clients upon check-in

· Assist with check-out

· Answer phones

· Answer incoming emails and patient messages

· Distribute messages from patients to the providers

· Assist new and established clients in appointment scheduling

· Schedule management

· Ensure completion of all registration forms

· Data entry, scanning, faxing

· Insurance verification

· Adhere to office policies and procedures

· Collecting payment (co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance & balances)

· Process refill requests as needed

Requirements/ Skills:

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities:

· Bilingual (Spanish & English)

· Attention to detail

· Organized

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Good customer service skills

· A positive attitude

· Team player

· Strong work ethic

· Flexibility

High school graduate or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year experience answering phones and scheduling required. Experience and/or training as a Medical Administrative Assistant preferred. Front office experience in a medical setting preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Experience required in addition to:
• EMR experience
• Having own reliable transportation
• Being able to pass random drug testing and background check
• Typing at least 35 WPM
• Being compassionate, people-oriented, and a team player
• Being able to work full time with no restrictions
• Providing references from previous employment(s)
