Position: Guest Service Agent Department: Front Office

Reports to: Front Office Manager/AGM/GM FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt

$500.00 signing bonus for all new hires at Silver Cloud Hotel Point Ruston

Bonus paid after 90 days of employment. Team member must remain employed and in good standing through the pay period following 90 days of completed service.

Tacoma Hotel at Point Ruston

The hotel will be one of the most expected new destination in Tacoma, with 194 rooms and suites on the waterfront, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a vibrant restaurant and bar and a rejuvenating day spa. With a summer opening in the pipeline, we will have many opportunities to join our organization from now until the doors open! Being part of the Silver Cloud Tacoma Hotel at Point Ruston

An integral part of the leadership management team, the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall guestrooms, public areas and back of the house room side operations, included but not limited to, housekeeping, laundry, meeting space and public areas. This is an exciting role that will set the pace of the guest experience on par with Silver Cloud foundation on the pillars of Cleanliness and Friendliness.

The hotel guests, patrons, visitors and employees are at the heart of making Silver Cloud Tacoma Hotel at Point Ruston vibrant. The Executive Housekeeper will be actively involved both on the floor, and strategically, in ensuring that the hotel is recognized as best in class in regard to being kept in impeccable cleanliness condition and contribute to being a destination of going and returning to for individual and corporate travelers.

Position Summary:

Guest service agents are responsible for greeting and registering the guest, providing outstanding

guest service during their stay, and settling the guest’s account upon completion of their stay.

However, the realm of responsibilities will extend beyond that of a typical front desk agent. This

allows the guest service agent to expand their skill sets and work in a fast paced environment

with new challenges daily.

Primary Responsibilities:

Front Desk

• Greet guests immediately with a friendly welcome. Use courteous and clear speaking

voice, listen to guest request, and respond with appropriate action.

• Complete the registration processes by accessing and inputting complete information in

the RDP using Silver Cloud standards. Make appropriate room selection based on guest

needs. Provide key packet containing coded room key and information regarding hotel

hours.

• Verify and authorize credit cards using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash,

make change and balance designated house bank. Accept and record vouchers,

traveler’s checks, and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex

mathematics using a calculator. Post charges to guestrooms and house accounts using

the computer system.

• Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction. Field guest

complaints, conduct research, and develop a positive solution. Listen and extend

assistance in order to resolve problems. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate

compromise, which may include authorizing revenue allowances.

Concierge

• Be able to supply guest with accurate information about local attractions, directions, and

seasonal events.

• At guest request, recommend restaurants and tourist destinations.

Hotel Operator

• Answer the telephone in 3 rings or less using positive and clear English. Transfer calls to

appropriate extensions with polite courteous response, or take written messages when

necessary.

• Retrieve mail, small packages and faxes for guests as requested. Alert guest and

deliver.

Reservations/Sales/Revenue Management

• Take reservations, cancellations, and make modifications to existing reservations.

• Monitor high demand dates and book reservations strategically. Also, stay up to date on

rate cutoffs and promotions and packages.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain

and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without

reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations

without error.

• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require

high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information

and resolve conflicts.

• Ability to stand for 8 hours a day and move throughout the Front Office and the hotel to

perform job functions.

• Ability to read and listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in

writing.

• Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer

system.

• Visual and auditory ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
