Installation Manager – Stoneham, MA

Sila’s Installation Manager is a dynamic position that requires experience leading a diverse team of HVAC installation foremen and technicians. The Install Manager is tasked with delivering premium products and services while developing, growing, and improving the installation department. The Installation Manager is an experienced driven manager and an engaging leader that works in both an office environment and with foremen, sales reps, and installers on job sites. This individual reports to the General Manager. The Installation Department, inclusive of Foremen, Install Leads, Install Helpers, and Installation Coordinators report to the Installation Manager.


Minimum 10 years HVAC Installation and Service experience -or- 5+ years HVAC experience with a construction management or engineering degree.


The Installation Manager is a proven team leader with a growth and continuous improvement mindset. This role requires interdisciplinary skills that range from P&L management to talent acquisition and development to strategic management. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and executing training initiatives, quality control processes and experience increasing efficiencies through process improvement and training.

Strategic Management

  • Assist in establishing annual budget
  • Operate department within budgetary constraints
  • Track costs on all jobs in department (labor, material, sub-contractors, etc.)
  • Review material usage on all jobs
  • Attend leadership meetings to continually improve technical abilities

Day to Day Management

  • Oversee the operations of the Install Team
  • Review all prior day’s and current day’s production schedule
  • Ensure all equipment is installed according to manufacturer’s instructions and local codes
  • Implement a quality control process to ensure customers’ equipment is working according to manufacturer specifications to achieve satisfactory call back rate
  • Call by Call debriefing while installers are onsite, ensuring everything is done correctly and completed properly
  • Manage all sub-contractors hired to ensure clients’ expectations are exceeded (drywall, landscaping, roofing, etc.)
  • Oversee the set-up of all Installations in ServiceTitan
  • Oversee Installer and install coordinator payroll

Customer Experience

  • Oversee all warranty work within the first year of installation
  • Follow through on all customer requests through to completion
  • Visit customer sites to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Review all client concerns and ensure that they are brought to successful conclusion in a timely manner
  • Review all invoices from the prior day and ensure all required signatures and approvals are there as well as, payments collected, and invoices emailed to the customer
  • Ensure all work and services performed by the Install Team meets customer requirements and expectations


  • Ensure each safety program is in effect and followed by all Installers and Install Helpers
  • Keep trucks & property clean and well maintained

Recruiting & Training

  • Establish an operational improvement program; identifying, assessing all process and procedural improvements, with the goal of increasing profitable returns and reducing costs, while still maintaining quality
  • Recruit, Interview, and Train Installers
  • Work with the recruiter to locate experienced installers
