Job DescriptionCompany Description
We are seeking a Sr Product Development Engineer to become an integral part of our team! You will develop and design manufactured products in accordance with company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design new products and modify existing products to create unique, customer-centric solutions utilizing input from customers, sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Research materials, suppliers, components, parts and competitor products.
- Conduct design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities for prototyping, fabricating and manufacturing of assigned products and systems.
- Lead cross-functional teams through project technical feasibility analysis, initiation, planning and launch, while adhering to project timeline and budget.
- Determine, complete and document testing and product validation.
- Provide technical information for product training and marketing
- Support manufacturing in process improvements, including the design and development of assembly tooling and fixing,
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a related industry (industrial, manufacturing, and/or product-based business)
- Proficient in the use of Solidworks
- Expertise in plastics materials, injection molding, plastic extrusion, compression molding, and thermoforming process
- Proficient in the product development process. Proven track record of taking product from conception, manufacturing, to launch
- Ability to thrive in a small company environment
- Strong teambuilding, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be able to travel - the company's manufacturing operations are in Orlando, FL with additional toll manufacturers located across the US. Customer and supplier visits will also be required.
