SUAS System Safety Engineer

Sigmatech is currently seeking a System Safety Engineer to to support the UAS program in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities include:

Manage comprehensive system safety program and all safety related activities for assigned UAS Product Office.

Provide management oversight and system safety technical expertise during the development and sustainment of UAS systems, subsystems and components.

Provide oversight of contractor safety support activities and inform leadership of risk to cost performance and schedule.

Coordinate with AMCOM Safety, APRD, SRD, PM UAS and PEOAVN on applicable safety activities.

Assist in hazard identification, Problem Change Request (PCR) monitoring, assess safety impacts and recommend priorities. Review polices & procedures & provide interpretation of the guidance.

Review contractor safety deliverables and provide required input and or approval recommendation.

Apply operational experience in support of aviation accident investigations, and prepare and staff findings & recommendations response for the PM/PdM.

Plan, coordinate, and generate Aviation Safety Messages.

Analyze mishap and product failure data for trends and provide recommendations for product improvement investments.

Interact directly with soldiers and contractors to resolve field issues.

Author Performance Work Statements for safety support task orders.

Evaluate development and modification approach and make recommendations to Tech Chief regarding safety impacts to support P3I and sustainment.

Communicate directly with contractors, engineers, logistician, program managers, and business team members in order to provide coordinated direction and tasking.

Provide concise reports to management on status, potential issues/risks, and participate in the development of contingency plans.
