Job Description

Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking highly qualified and motivated Regional Space Advisor (RSA) Instructors in support of the Headquarters Space Force in Arlington, VA. This position requires familiarity in the following areas: DoD, commercial and civil space operations, ground systems, on-orbit systems, links, international capabilities, threats, cyber operations/threats/security. As an instructor, the candidate should be able to guide a student body of future Regional Space Advisors through principles of international relations, National Security Strategy (NSS), DoD organization to secure the Space Domain, Joint Planning (to include CONPLANS, OPLANS, Campaign Support Plans), Security Cooperation Plans, and diplomatic practices and skills. This is an exciting opportunity to directly influence the quality and quantity of future space advisors to embassies across the international community.



The Regional Space Advisor Instructor will primarily support Headquarters Space Force.  Working independently, or as part of a diverse multi-disciplined team, the RSA Instructor will:

  • Develop lessons in various space and DoD related competency areas supporting in-resident NSSI curriculum.
  • Develop classroom courseware as assigned consistent with Instructional System Development (ISD) principles and NSSI Instructions to satisfy government course delivery requirements.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain lesson plans and materials within the USAF Instructional System Development (ISD) guidelines to satisfy government educational requirements. 
  • Interface with internal and external agencies and customers as required to maintain up-to-date education program materials.
  • Analyze current NSSI lessons and associated programs and recognize where space interests need to be injected or updated.
  • Any other tasks closely associated with the performance of duties listed above.
Experience and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Must have an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in relevant field (8 years of experience in a relevant field may be substituted for the education requirement).
  • Experience or education in international affairs (Relevant experience may include assignment as a Foreign Area Officer or Defense Attache; service as a Liaison Officer or Exchange Officer; assignment with the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA); assignment(s) with Combatant Commands involving routine official interaction with Allies and international partners).
  • Familiarity with international agreements and comfortable working with international partners.
  • Familiarity with DoD interaction in the international arena to include coordination with embassies and foreign attaches.
  • Familiarity with the full range of Space Operations and Associated Capabilities (per Joint Publication 3-14).
  • Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
  • Familiarity with civil, commercial, and international space capabilities.
  • Experience working on a headquarters staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan, track, and maintain due dates for multiple tasks and products central to the organization's business processes.
  • Exemplary writing and editing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments while maintaining flexibility and versatility.
  • Experience working successfully with senior executives at multiple organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.
  • Experience fostering stable and productive working relationships that communicate expectations and promote cooperation.
  • Experience communicating effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with personnel at all levels of the customer organization to deliver results; strong networking, interpersonal, and customer service skills are key.
