WHERE YOU WILL WORK:

Located in Albuquerque, NM, Sigma Science Inc. is currently seeking a Project Coordinator in Architectural or Engineering Design for a new program at Kirtland AFB near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The contract will provide on-site infrastructure management facility support services for Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Directorate flagship facilities. The Requirement of this contract is the smooth and efficient operation of the Infrastructure Management Branch at Phillips Research Site (PRS), Kirtland AFB NM.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • The Project Coordinator will perform architectural and/or engineering concept planning/project management of 10-20 projects from requirements through construction closeout. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. The Project Manager is responsible for the cradle to grave management of construction projects on the installation through design, acquisition, construction, and finally turnover to the base customer. Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing all project requirements for planning and programming documentation for small purchase orders and large acquisition contracts to be submitted to Secretary of Air Force for approval including floorplans, elevations, requirements documentation, and working group and technical interchange meetings.
  • Providing cradle to grave project management and secondary oversite of design/construction agent's projects,
  • Preparing project contract requirements documentation including independent government estimate, project schedule, plans and specifications to be submitted to design and construction agent, lead the planning, and coordination of facility site visits, review meetings, working group, and technical interchange meetings, and other official functions on facility projects.
  • Organizing and communicating verbally and in writing as required to keep all necessary personnel informed of project status.
  • Interfacing with Authorities Having Jurisdiction over construction projects in AFRL to include the Base Civil Engineer's Office and Base Safety to ensure projects are compliant and ready to be awarded and approved.
  • Reviewing 10-12 submittals/year from the construction contractor including comprehensive constructability reviews on initial designs and final contract construction documents.

WHAT YOU NEED (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or architectural field.
  • Seven + years of design preparation and project management experience preparing concept level documents using AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Material specifications, construction methods, and cost estimating.
  • Understanding of Building Codes, i.e. IBC, NFPA, ADA, Life Safety.
  • Experience sponsoring contractors for construction and other related projects.
  • Experience reviewing MS Office products, AutoCad Drawings, and other contract construction documents.
  • Strong computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office products.

Security Clearance:

  • Must have a Secret clearance and must maintain the level of security required for the life of the contract
