Job Description Welcome to Sigan America, LLC Sigan America is a liquid pour contractor of health and beauty products located in Ottawa, Illinois. We are seeking an experience sanitation lead to help manage direct and coordinate Sanitation processes and teams. Our goal is to provide the highest quality products in the most efficient, cost effect and safe manner.
The Sanitation Lead provides the overall management, direction, and coordination of the Sanitation teams. Also, manage the manufacturing of the highest quality products in most efficient, lowest cost, and safest manner. The Sanitation Lead will oversee the daily activities of up to 8 direct reports including processes, scheduling time off and team management.
Essential Duties: · Perform daily sanitation of all processing lines by overseeing sanitation team to ensure all procedures are followed · Directs and coordinates all daily sanitation activities for the respective zone of responsibility within the manufacturing facilities as well as the grounds surrounding the plant. · Responsible for managing and maintaining a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations. · Assist with Developing and maintaining training programs that support key performance goals for the Company, as well as provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees.
· Lead, motivate and develop sanitation personnel to achieve outstanding manufacturing and sanitation results. Effectively conduct team meetings. · Responsible for daily scheduling and efficient resource allocation.
Responsible for filling out daily sanitation logs, performance reports and shift report. · Perform related duties as required. Related duties as required are duties that may not be specifically listed in the Position Description, but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s classification of work.
Preferred Skills/Abilities: 1. Minimum of 2 years related work experience in liquid sanitation. 2.
Experience and knowledge in Food or Cosmetic sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals and program standards. 3. An understanding of pathogens and other microbial contaminants.
4. An understanding of sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning. 5.
Leadership competencies that lead and inspire others – drives for exceptional results. 6. Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
7. Basic computer skills required. Microsoft Office, proficient with ERP systems 8.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is helpful. 9.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups. 10. Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
11. Read and understand chemical labels. 12.
Read and understand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements. 13. Must have basic understanding of inventory methods.
14. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including electronically. 15.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. 16. Ability to train, maintain and promote a safe work environment.
Education : Preferred Education: Minimum Acceptable: High school Diploma/ or Equivalent. Physical Requirements: Special physical requirements for performing the essential functions of the job (e.g. must lift 50-lb onto waist high shelves): Must be able to assist non-routine emergency needs, which may include lifting of personnel or climbing over/under equipment.
