The Director of Inpatient Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing all medication storage and preparation by the department. This individual ensures that the Pharmacy provides optimal services; meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements; and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the organization. The Inpatient pharmacy director is responsible for reviewing scheduling, workflow, material management and competency. This position works with the System Director of Pharmacy with the development/revisions, implementation and communication of goals, policies, and guidelines necessary to meet best practice standards for providing Pharmaceutical Care.
Position reports to the System Director of Pharmacy and will be responsible for managing 45 FTEs.
Additional responsibilities include;
· Oversight of Pharmacy Residency Program (ASHP accredited for 8 years) with two program years, 1 resident
· Managing $4 million drug budget - includes Central Pharmacy and Oncology Center Infusion Pharmacy
· Involvement in $5 million pharmacy renovation plan to include new USP797/800 compliant IV room, total ADC (Omnicell) replacement and the addition of a carousel
· Part of an IDN including a System P&T Committee
Qualified candidates will have a Pharm.D. and at a minimum 5 years of progressive health system pharmacy experience in a leadership capacity. Priority will be given to candidates with an MBA and/or Administrative Residency Training.
