Our client, a progressive 400 bed Medical Center and a Thomson Reuters Top 100 Hospital is looking for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to work in their expanding Oncology Pharmacy program. The facility is located in Western North Carolina just a short drive from downtown Charlotte. As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will perform a wide variety of duties to help meet the pharmaceutical needs of the organization and its patients focusing on management of oncology patients. Provides medication-related information to physicians, staff, and community. Serves as a liaison to assigned patient care areas with responsibility for outcomes including patient satisfaction and quality measures. Mentors and educates pharmacy staff, residents, and students in area(s) of specialty. Coordinates delivery of pharmaceutical care within the assigned specialty by serving as the subject matter expert for order sets, patient care protocols, policy development / revision, and multidisciplinary rounds.
Qualified candidates will have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree Board certification in Oncology (required within 18 months of hire). Must meet ASHP preceptor criteria. Excellent communication and teaching skills. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies. Knowledge of quality measures. Considerable skill in performing pharmacy procedures; Considerable ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members; Maintains active BLS and ACLS certification. Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.
