Come start your career with some of the brightest and most innovative minds in the country. Get your hands on actual projects, and at the same time, prepare for a truly awesome career in aerospace and defense. This is not your parent's internship program - you won't be getting coffee and ordering lunch. Our Interns have the unique experience of getting both mentoring and coaching while working side by side with recognized industry experts on real-world assignments directly related to their field of study. Bring your knowledge and desire to learn, and we will provide the experience. Summer internships are typically 10-12 weeks starting in late May/early June and work an average of 40 hours a week. Depending on satisfactory completion of certain criteria during your internship, you may be considered for a full-time position upon graduation. As an Intern, you'll ask questions, get involved, bring your ideas, be part of an actual project team, attend planning meetings, complete assignments as tasked by your team, absorb and learn from your team and apply that learning to projects assigned. You'll have the opportunity to learn fundamental business processes and procedures, build your technical foundation through practice and mentorship, and participate in an in-depth program built by our University Recruiting team, that includes cross-functional workshops and meeting with leadership to gain understanding of the business and SNC culture.

As a Subcontracts Intern you'll support the Supply Management organization through Category, Agreement, and Performance Management of our Suppliers. You'll use your skills and expertise to purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization. You'll be responsible for helping to qualify our suppliers, monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery, evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services, tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our supplier information.

Your primary role is to ensure supplier performance to SNC and its missions, meeting supplier delivery, quality, service, cost and technical requirements through the entire purchase order lifecycle.

You may support the identification and development of current and new suppliers to support Category goals, as well as monitoring, measuring and reporting supplier(s) progress. It will be important to contract appropriately, ensuring SNC protection and obligating suppliers to clearly specified requirements. You are responsible for what you buy, from whom and the corresponding results.

As a Subcontracts Intern, you will work to reduce the cost and increase the value of using the preferred SNC supply base over time. You are the leader of a given procurement, and you represent your internal teammates who have communicated this requirement.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
