Job Description

Summary:

The Conflicts/New Matter Specialist is primarily responsible for researching and analyzing incoming new clients and matters for the Firm in order to minimize risk and prevent conflicts of interest.  Primary duties include, but are not limited to, running and analyzing conflicts searches, as opening new clients and matters in the Firm-wide time & billing system, and performing company research. 

An ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is analytical and a forward thinker, is highly organized and shows great attention to detail, and can act in a positive professional manner among attorneys, professionals and fellow staff members.


FLSA Status:

Salaried Non-Exempt

Job Classification:

Reports and is responsible to the Client Intake Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and the Human Resources Director and/or Office Administrator.

Essential Duties:

·         Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

·         Completes conflict checks for the Firm.

·         Opens new clients/matters for the Firm.

·         Executes changes in existing matters.

·         Inputs and manages docket information.

·         Completes company research.

·         Answers general questions related to client, matter and conflicts related information.

Other Responsibilities:

·         Performs other work related duties as assigned and appropriate.

 Education, Experience and Skills Required:

·         Minimum of high school diploma required.  College degree preferred.

·         Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

·         Sitting frequently, primarily at a computer, at least seven out of eight hours per day.
