Position Summary:
Shoreline Biosciences, Inc. (Shoreline) is a biotechnology company developing intelligently designed, allogeneic off-the-shelf, targeted cellular immunotherapies derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) for cancer and other serious diseases. Shoreline Biosciences is seeking skilled and highly motivated candidates to join our growing Genome Editing group at the Senior Research Associate level. In this role, you will contribute to projects focused on the development, characterization, and optimization of genome editing techniques, including CRISPR KO/KI, in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). These efforts will directly support the advancement of our iPSC-derived Natural Killer and Macrophage platforms. This will be a full-time position reporting directly to Senior Scientist. The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $114,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate depends on the candidate's experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, the hired candidate is eligible to receive an annual bonus and will receive an equity grant, at the time of hire, in the form of the option to purchase stock in the future for a specified price.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine cell culture, cell banking, and genome editing activities in R&D and cGMP facilities.
- Draft, review, and execute GMP-related documentation, including batch records, SOPs, and protocols, and coordinate with QA to ensure documentation complies with GDP.
- Perform genetic characterization of genome-edited iPSC via standard molecular biology techniques and Next Generation Sequencing.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement, including clone selection, characterization, and automation.
- Perform monthly and quarterly equipment cleaning, including biosafety cabinets.
- Maintain pre-gown and gowning room material.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Stem Cell Biology, and Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years relevant industry experience; or MS with 3+ years relevant industry experience.
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience working in a cGMP cleanroom environment, including familiarity with cGMP documentation practices and process deviation investigations, is highly preferred.
- Experience in iPSC culture and CRISPR is a plus.
- Experience in next-generation sequencing library prep is a plus.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques (nucleic acids extraction and quantification, PCR, qPCR) is preferred.
- Experience in flow cytometry is preferred.
- Self-motivated and creative, able to work within a team and collaborate proficiently with colleagues to achieve program goals.

- The regular requirements of an office environment (computers, computer screens, workstations, etc.) apply when not working in or around a laboratory environment.
- 100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
- Evening and weekend work as necessary.
